I had the awesome opportunity to work with Portland-based trail running brand, Speedland, to help launch the RX:FPY. Their first super shoe designed for the road.

The campaign is an invitation to rethink roads—not as barriers to the wild, but as extensions of the adventure. Speedland is adapting their innate trail instincts to thrive on the road. An evolution. A new species of Speedland.

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, the largest healthcare insurer in the Mid-Atlantic region, asked us to help create a campaign that expresses their commitment to the overall health of their communities and each of the 3.5 million people they serve. And to show their members how CareFirst is so much more than a healthcare insurer.

We created “With Care”, a love letter to humanity, a tribute to people of all kinds, and a pledge to CareFirst’s diverse community—with a sign-off that is literally and figuratively signed by the CareFirst team. Through this ever-evolving campaign, we’ve shifted the perception of CareFirst from a transactional brand to a thought leader and visionary healthcare partner.

There’s a parallel between WYPR and the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus movement and design philosophy was all about simplicity, functionality, and honest form. It wasn’t about being flashy or disposable. It was about distilling something down to its essence: It’s simplest form, simplest shape, or simplest message. WYPR strives to communicate truth. Truth in communication, in information, in journalistic excellence, and in public service. And in turn, they continue that tradition and principle of honest design.

Logo design, branding, and TV for incorporate.com. incorporate.com was the first company to offer internet-based incorporation services and they have incorporated over 500,000 small businesses.

The modular logomark system was created to pay tribute to the thousands of different types of small businesses that incorporate.com helps and thus the logo is always changing. An extensive library of logomarks were created to house the ".com" portion of the name. This allows an appropriate logomark to be chosen depending on the subject matter (or type of small business) at hand in creative executions.

If you're not incorporated, your business may seem small. Really small. In the "Grow Up Your Business" TV spot, we demonstrate what you may look like when you're business isn't incorporated.

A rebrand and logo "revolution" for The Family Tree, Maryland's leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing families with proven solutions to prevent child abuse and neglect.

“Impact” was the most important word during the rebrand. Our goal was to move away from their soft and child-like tree drawing to a stronger, more committed symbol of positive change.  It needed authority and urgency and to reflect the organizations new tagline, “Raising Families Up”. This simple mark was the solution: Two upward arrows that represented the two generations (parents and children) at stake, that also doubled as a simplified tree.

The Keep Calm and Rock On Podcast provides a roundtable-type platform to discuss the way rock and roll and popular music has moved people for the last 50 years. The shows three hosts, Mike, Jamie, and Angelo, asked me to create the cover art for the show that would simply and boldly capture their mission.

This monoweight style insignia and supporting graphics were created to commemorate a friend's "Tad Tougher" weekend bachelor party in a century-old cabin in Shenandoah National Park. Among other symbolism, the icons of the Axe, the Oar, and the Arrow were used on patches and handed out to those who demonstrated, courage, endurance, and accuracy. T-shirts were created for the entire group of hikers.

As part of PBS Kids Annual Writer's Contest, I was tasked to create and illustrate a theme pack to be used in their Digital Storybook Builder. The site includes 10 theme packs that include characters, objects, and backgrounds that users can include in their stories. Each theme pack was designed by a different artist, not only to create a consistency within the theme packs themselves, but to allow a variety of different illustrative styles to emerge.
